Do you have any ancestors or relatives buried in ‘All Saints’ Parish Churchyard, Glazebury?
Many of the older headstones (over 50 years old) have been badly affected by subsidence and are considered to be in a dangerous condition.
If remedial work cannot be carried out soon, the headstones will have to be flattened and laid on the graves. The stones in the older section of the Churchyard are in the worst and most critical condition. Member Jill Cruikshank is presently cataloguing the whole churchyard.
Anyone who wants details of stone inscriptions or would like to contribute to the costs of the project should contact the vicar Mrs Pat Grey on 01942 603161 or Jill on 01925 764704.
