In the name of God Amen the xxiiith day of May in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and eighteen I Ralph Morte Clarke of par of South Wingfield in the Countie of Derbie doo institute make and ordayne this my last will and testament in mannor and form following vizd First of principally I give and bequeath my soule to Almighty God my maker and creator forgiveness of all my .. And my body to be buried in the chancell of the Church of the said South Wingfield and for my temporall goods I do give and bequeath them as follows. I give and bequeath five shillings and eight pence to the poor parishioners in Leake of Derbie to be bestowed and delivered at the disposition of the minister of St. ? In Derbie aforesaid. I give and bequeath to divine poor in the parish of South Wingfield four pounds. I give and bequeath to the poor in the par of Sheene in the county of Stafford where I was born five shillings to be paid the third day of January next after my death. Also I give and bequeath to the poor of Cromford the sum of five shillings. Also I give and bequeath unto my brothers Richard Henry Anthonie and Gervase every one of them twelve pence. Also I give and bequeath unto my sister Grace Wardle five shillings eight pence. Also I do give and bequeath unto my brothers and sisters children every one of them five pence. Also I do give unto my godchildren everie one of them four pence. I do dive and bequeath unto the church of South Wingfield towards repairing of the said three shillings four pence. I give and bequeath unto my servants either of them .. I do give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Morte my late servant.. I do give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Mort two books .. Sermons .. Also I give and bequeath all the rest of my books to Ralph Morte my nephew and godsonne. I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chatells moveable and unmoveable whatsover before bequested my debts paid and funeral expenses discharged to Elizabeth Mort my lawful wife. I do hereby ordain and make my said wife my sole and lawful executrix of this my last will and testament. In witnesss thereof I have put my hand and seal the day and year above.
