In the name of God Amen, I Catherine Mort of Farnworth in the County of Lancaster, widow... I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Mort all the rest residue and remainder (if Any) of my said personal estate and effects with all my Goods, Chattels,Horses, Cattle, farming stock, and utensils Unto my said son Thomas Mort all my right to and interest in the cottage tenemet land and in the premises situate in Farnworth called or known by the name of High Field Lane End Farm now in my occupation and which I hold by virtue of a freehold lease from and during the natural life of Peter Rasbottom late of Farnworth but now of the county of Stafford, esquire subject only to the payment of several sums of thirty shillings a piece of lawful British money to each of my four daughters that is to say to Betty Lord of Kersley, widow Alice Watson of Farnworth, widow Mary Boardman of Little Hulton and Elizabeth Hindley of Farnworth. I do also give devise and bequeath unto my said son Thomas Mort all my right to and interest in a certain other farm now in my occupation called or known by the name of Mud Hole Farm and which I hold for and during the natural life of James Parkinson of Farnworth aforesaid Butcher. Appoint my son Thomas Mort and James Rushton of Bolton le Moors, weaver my executors dated this sevententh day of December in the year eighteen hundred and nine. She made her mark.
Notes added Thomas Mort and James Rushton sworn in common form personal estate and effects did not amount to the sum of one hundred pounds.
