I Thomas Mort of Mount St, in the parish of St George, Hannover Sq in the County of Middlesex, I give unto my son of two hundred and twenty pounds secured by me on a mortgage of a Copyhold house and lands in the manor of Hale in Lancashire formerly the estate of Chaddock Wright and now in my possession, and all the rents of the said premises which have been received by my late brother John Mort and since his decease by his son Jonadab Mort and which shall be due to me at my decease and I give to my said son one years Dairy of Cheese which was given to me by my late father. I give and bequeath unto my wife Ann Mort my personnal dwelling house in Mount St and all my fixtures and furniture, and my other house in Mount St in the tenure of Roger Facey, and after the decease of my said wife I give and bequeath my said two houses to my son Thomas Mort. Bequeath unto my said son the capital sum of fifteen hundred pounds. Unto my sister Frances Hewitt an annuity of four pounds four shillings during her natural life. Letter dated 22 June 1799: We attended the house of Ann Mort widow, the relict and one of the executors named in the last will and testament of Thomas Mort late of Mount St, Grosvenor Sq deceased situate in Mount St and did swear the truth and the law obliged her and that she would make a true inventory of all the Goods and Chattels of the said deceased
