"In the name of God Amen the eighteenth day of April seventeen hundred and five. I Henry Mort of Tildesley Tanner being of perfect memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in mannor and form following viz. I give my eldest son John Mort the houses and ground lying and and being in Tildesley paying Ann my now wife and his mother the sum of three pounds the years of fixed rent at May day fifteen shillings and all saints day fiften shillings whilst she keeps my wife. And also the said John Mort do pay to the younger children his brother Ralph the sum of forty pounds equally divided betwixt Ruth Mort, James Mort, Joseph Mort and Ann Mort the youngest within two years after my decease. Also my will and mind is that my son Ralph Mort have that house and ground lying and being in Atherton paying to his mother forty shillings a year at midsummer ten shillings at Michelmas ten shillings whilst she keep my wife. And if any of these said sums of money either John or Ralph do not pay being lawfully demanded it may be lawful for the said Ann Mort their mother within twenty days do make distressed. And that she dwell at either house whether she chooses whilst she remains only sole and single life but not to ring any husband to dwell at either house. The remainder equally to Ruth, James, Joseph and Ann and if fifty pounds do make equal with Katherine the wife of Thomas Woodburn. I nominate John Mort and Ralphe Mortsons of the said Henry Mort to be my executors and Ann my now wife overseer". Signed Henery Mort.
