"In the name of God amen I Eleanor Mort of Chorley in the county of Lancaster, Widdow make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I command my soul unto the hands of Almighty God hoping for the pardon of my sins through my saviour Jesus Christ. And my body to christian burial. And as to that temporal estate God has blessed me with I dispose of it as followsth. First it is my will and mind that my debts and funeral expenses and the probate of this my last will and testament be first paid and discharged and the residue and remainde I dispose of as follows. First I give and bequeath to Ann wife of Roger Hodson of Chorley Moss Side the bedstead standing in the room below and the hangings belonging to the same bedstead. Item I give to my maid Katherine Tassaker all my wearing apparell and the residue and remainder of my estate I give to my grandson George Mort of Atherton. And do ordain and appoint him sole executor of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand the twelve day of June in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred. Out of my wearing apparel given to my maid Katherine Tassaker except my hood which I give to Robert Orrots wife of Barton".
