In ye name of God Amen ye third day of October in ye year of our lord god 1558 I Thomas Mort of ye parish of Sheen in ye land of Stafford hole of mind and perfect remembrance make my will and last testament in manner here following. I bequeath my soul to Almighty god to and.. My bodie to be buried in ye church yard of Shene. Ellen Mort, Sheen 1584 July 31

In the name of God Amen the xyth day of March 1581 Ellen Mort of ye parish of Sheen, widow, week in body but perfect of mind praise be make my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and my body to be buried in my parish church yard aforesaid and for my mortuary..Item I bequeath unto my son Thomas Mort one.. and matress. Item I bequeath to Willm Wheeldon my son in law, and to Agnes Gib wife, my daughter, my best brass pans, and to Alice ye daughter of my said son in law. Item I bequeath to Wm Woolley my son in law, and to John Gib wife my daughter .. And to Helen Woolley their daughter I bequeath to my said daughters Agnes and Helen the rest of all my .. And to Alice and Elizabeth my daughters equally to be divided between them. I bequeath to ye said Alice my said daughter ... Item I bequeath to Henry Mort my son..I order and make my said son Thomas Mort and Wm Wheeldon my said son in law my executors and I ordain and constitute Wm Woolley and Nicholas Cansell of ye same.

In the name of God Amen the ninth day of February Anno dom 1612 and in the year of the reighn of our Soverign Lord James by the grace of God king of England France and Ireland the . of Scotland .. the defender of the faith I Thomas Mortte of Heath Houses in the the parish of Alstonfield in the county of Stafford husbandman deing sick in body but of good and perfect remembrance the Lord be praised therefore I do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God the Creator and Redeemer of the same and my body to the earth to be buried in the Quire of the parish church of Sheene there to remain until the generall day of.. and final judgement And then I most steadfastly believe by and through the merrits of our Saviour my body and soul unto life Everlasting. And as for the dispersion of all my wordly goods and chattells my will is as following First I will and give to my welbeloved wife Agnes all my pewter and brass .. bedding .. Item I give and bequeath unto Roger Mortte my sonne Ten shillings of Lawfull English money and all my apparell. I do give and bequeath unto Ellen Bul.. my daughter for and in consideration of her. Item I give and bequeath unto Annie Mort my daughter the best and .. brass .. at and by the disposition of my said wife And also and .. Forty shillings of lawfull english money to be delivered unto her by my Executors hereafter named at the feast of Saint John the Baptist. Item I give and bequeath unto Margarette my daughter forty shillings of lawfull english moneyto be delivered unto her by my Executors as aforesaid at the said feast day of Saint John the Baptist for and in consideration of her fillial part. Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my daughter . for and in consideration of her fillial Item my will and mind is to desire my welbeloved wife to reside over the most farm or tenement in I now inhabit device unto Robert Mort my son for and during all her natural life, the said Robert shall obtain I now leasse of Sir John Harpur Knight And my will is that my said son son Robert enter into land to mentain and keep John Mortte his brother with meat, drinks, apparell, lodgings during all the term of his naturall life, And the keeping of.. I nominate make my said son Robert Mortt my sole and lawfull Executor of this my last will and testament. And I appoint and desire my loving .. Gervasse Mort to be of this my said last will and testament to be the same performed in all.

 
Ralph Mort, Vicar of South Wingfield 1620, June 13

In the name of God Amen the xxiiith day of May in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and eighteen I Ralph Morte Clarke of par of South Wingfield in the Countie of Derbie doo institute make and ordayne this my last will and testament in mannor and form following vizd First of principally I give and bequeath my soule to Almighty God my maker and creator forgiveness of all my .. And my body to be buried in the chancell of the Church of the said South Wingfield and for my temporall goods I do give and bequeath them as follows. I give and bequeath five shillings and eight pence to the poor parishioners in Leake of Derbie to be bestowed and delivered at the disposition of the minister of St. ? In Derbie aforesaid. I give and bequeath to divine poor in the parish of South Wingfield four pounds. I give and bequeath to the poor in the par of Sheene in the county of Stafford where I was born five shillings to be paid the third day of January next after my death. Also I give and bequeath to the poor of Cromford the sum of five shillings. Also I give and bequeath unto my brothers Richard Henry Anthonie and Gervase every one of them twelve pence. Also I give and bequeath unto my sister Grace Wardle five shillings eight pence. Also I do give and bequeath unto my brothers and sisters children every one of them five pence. Also I do give unto my godchildren everie one of them four pence. I do dive and bequeath unto the church of South Wingfield towards repairing of the said three shillings four pence. I give and bequeath unto my servants either of them .. I do give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Morte my late servant.. I do give and bequeath unto my nephew Richard Mort two books .. Sermons .. Also I give and bequeath all the rest of my books to Ralph Morte my nephew and godsonne. I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chatells moveable and unmoveable whatsover before bequested my debts paid and funeral expenses discharged to Elizabeth Mort my lawful wife. I do hereby ordain and make my said wife my sole and lawful executrix of this my last will and testament. In witnesss thereof I have put my hand and seal the day and year above. In the name of God Amen first day of aprill in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twentie and eight I Gervase Morte of Sheen in the county of Stafford Clarke being weeke in bodie but of sound and perfect remembrance praise be given unto Almighty God therefore and knowing that nothing is more.. than.. do make this my last will in manner and form following my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my Creator saviour and redeemer.. My bodie I will be interred in the Chancell of the Church of Sheen afforesaid neer unto the place where the bodie of Richard Morte my father lying buried .. And for the dispersing of my wordlie estate chattell and chatells my will and mind is that I do desire all debts and funeral expenses Item I do give dessire unto James Mort my sonne . The tennant right .. of Gabrielle Armstrong Item I do give and desire unto Margaret Morte my welbeloved wife the tennant right for the term of out of the Corne Milne by the name of Sheen Milne.. Item I do give and desire unto Thomas Morte and Elizabeth Morte my children. And Nicholas Critchlow my neighbur of Sheen Item I do nominate and appoint Margaret Mort my welbeloved wife the sole executrix of this my said will Witnes Thomas Birch, Nicholas Critchlow and Edw?
