I Ralph Mort of Tildesley with Shakerley in the parish of Leigh give and bequeath to my eldest son Thomas Mort all that my messuage and tennement, lying and being in Atherton, to my two daughters Anne and Martha Mort share and share alike the sum of twenty pounds. Also I give devise and bequeath all that my messuage Cottage and lands in Tyldesley to my son James Mort. Also to my sons Thomas and James Mort all my wearing apparel. The condition of this obligation is such that we above bounden Mary Mort natural daughter and next of Kin and credits of Martha Mort late of Atherton deceased widow. In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Mort of Manchester, callender do publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in mannor and form following. First I will that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charge of the probate hereof be paid and discharged by my executrix hereafter named. All the restresidue and remainder of my lands messuage or tenement situate lying and being in Manchester aforesaid commonly called or known by the name of South hill field or Longworths folly together will my seal and personal estateof what kind. I give and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto my dear wife Martha her heirs, Executis, Administrors and Assigns for her and their own use and benefit. And lastly I do nominate my said dear wife Martha sole Executrix set my hand and seal the twentieth day of March, 1765 signed Joseph Mort.

This is the last will and testament of me William Mort of Liverpool, county of Lancaster, Joiner and duly published by me this ninth day of December in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy two, I direct that the interest of the money arising from the sale shall be paid unto my loving wife for and during her natural life if she so long continue my widow in support of herself and my two children James and Margaret. And after my said wifes death I give and bequeath all my said estate and effects unto and equally between my children, but in case my said wife should marry again, then I give bequeath during her life interset of one third part of my estate, and the other two thirds to my said children.
