Arnold Mort, parish of Monton, Eccles 1604 Jul 23

A long inventory of all goods etc. Arnold Mort of Manton in the parish of Eccles and county of Lancaster husbandman late deceased proved by four men. Mainly written in Latin.

"In the name of God Amen the second day of June 1602, I Arnolde Morte of Monton in the parish of Eccles and county of Lancaster, husbandman, to Elizabeth my wife, to Edmunde my eldest sone, of Robart and Arnolde my sons, and Elizabeth my daughter and make Thomas Valentine, gentleman Edmunde Morte my son, and Rodger Fyldes executors".

 
Elizabeth Mortte of Manton, Eccles, widow 1614 Jul 1

"In the name of God Amen the twenty day of May 1614 I Elizabeth Mortte of Manton in the parish of Eccles, county of Lancaster, to be buried in the churchyard of Eccles, unto Edmund my eldest son, to Elizabeth my daughter, my brother in law Humffrey, my sons Robart and Arnold, Anne and Elizabeth my daughters. Executors Edmund Mortte my son and Roger Fyldes my son in law".

 
Henry Mort of Lowest Hulton, Deane 1619 Apr 11

"In the name of God Amen in the year of our lord 1616 second day of February I Henry Mort of Lowest Hulton in the parish of Deane, to be buried near the place where my brother was buried in my parish church. …to be divided into two equal parts, to Ellenore my wife…. Nominate and appoint William Rothwell and Ellore my wife executors".

Richard Mort of Blackrod, Bolton le Moors, yeoman 1628 Apr 18

"In ye name of God Amen ye twentieth day of March in ye year 1627, I Richard Morte of Blackrodde, yeoman being poor in bodie but of good remembrance, granted for ye terme of thirtie years to my brother Adam Mort and my good friends Richard Turner and George Longworth. All messuage and land in Blackrodde aforesaid in ye holding of my father in law George Holme. And all other buildings, land and appertences in Blackrodde…….and appoint following Elizabeth Holme my mother in law.. And Elonor my wife my two brothers Thomas Morte and Adam Morte.."

Witness signed Thomas and Adam Morte. Richard Morte made his mark RM. Also long inventory on parchment dated Apr 18, 1628 totalling £232 16s 4d of Richard Morte late of Blackrodde.

 
Ralph Mort of Tyldesley May 1, 1631

Parchment Inventory dated 1631 Total Value £208. 11s. 4d

"In the name of God Amen I Ralph Mort of Tyldesley, that my two sonnes Arnold Mort and Henrie Mort my bedding and pewter, my grandchild Ralph Mort my silver. My son in law, George Smith, my brother Thomas Mort, my daughter ? George Smith wife. When my grandchild Henrie Hope doth come to the age of one and twenty years. Divided equally amongst my five children, Arnold and Henrie my two sons, Ralph Smith, George Smith and my daughter ?. Debts listed owing by the testator to widow Sutton. Debts listed owing to the testator, my son in law George Smith".
