Did anyone see episode one of the BBC series Empire of the Seas: How the Navy Forged the Modern World? It is available to watch on the internet until 17th February. Start watching it at about 11min 41sec and, at 13min 36sec there's a mention of a William Mort of Littleham. I'm not sure I'm allowed to post a link (!) but here it is: http://bbc.co.uk/i/q2ly2/?t=11m41s

I'm Will(iam) Mort and I started researching our family tree just over a year ago. As Sheila noted on GenesReunited, our Kent-based branch of the family is related to the Morts of Tarvin. We had a nice time wandering around the village and St. Andrew's Church last year whilst on holiday in the Peak District.
